Lindsay Jones - Election Address and CV

Lindsay Jones

I am a 44 year old father of 3 .I live near Oswestry and work as retail manager. I saw my first Wrexham game during the 1969/70 promotion season.

During the 'struggle' I helped with the original fanzine that exposed the corrupt actions taking place at the club.

For my pains I was sued , along with my schoolmate Ken, by Guterman who wished to suppress certain material. Because of the information passed to me in the case I was able to pass important information to the Administrators which helped to bring about the Summary Judgement last year.

I was a board member of the WST from June 2004 till March this year when I resigned because of my increasing frustration with the direction the WST was taking. During my time on the Trust board I attended many meetings on behalf of the WST and worked on more projects than I care to remember although I am particularly proud of the Yearbook we produced, a real team effort by members of the WST.

I feel that the members of WST have received a very poor return for their unequivocal support of Mr Moss & Mr Dickens and nearly 12 months after their takeover we still have no idea what their vision for the club entails.

Of particular worry to me is their proposal, or suggestion, that the club would benefit by the splitting of the business into two separate companies, one to own the club and the other to own the ground. Over the past three years we have all seen the 'benefits' that such a move can bring to the club and, like all of you, I have no wish to return to that situation.

This idea was floated at a meeting between the WST board and the club but I have yet to see any comment on this from the board of the WST. I feel that they should be actively condemning it.

It is vital that the club retains its assets.

I along with the other nominees Wayne Price, Len Willett, Colin Bithell and Phil Wynne support the current WST strategy of building a local consortium to bid for and run our club.

However we feel that this strategy needs to be widened to include other stakeholders such as the local authority and other organisations. We believe that the key to the clubs future prosperity is the provision of a new stand on the Kop and that the WST must work in partnership with all stakeholders to bring this about.

We believe we can bring new energy and ideas to assist the existing WST board members in their negotiations with the club owners and other parties, to ensure the club and the Racecourse is protected for the benefit of current and future generations of Wrexham AFC fans.

I feel that you are guilty of being more interested in the fight than the cause Lindsay. My opinion of the WST shot up when you resigned and I considered joining; I would only join if you were not involved at board level. You were the biggest promoter of Nev and Geoff when we were in admin, you would stoop to the lowest tactics to prevent anyone speaking out against them, you are now trying to lock the door after the horse has bolted. Not once have you mentioned your own failings, rather, you have become a whistleblower against people who have worked extremely hard. This, in my opinion, is because they are not conducive to your personal ambitions. Your 3 years on the board are up so you've gathered your mates to help you back in. They are willing to do this despite the fact that I am not alone in being more comfortable with the WST in your absense, many other fans, current board members and the club owners feel the same. I personally feel that Wayne could do a good job on the board on his own, without you. I actually agree with some of the points but I feel Wayne is more capable than you in negotiating and he hasn't lost the respect of the amount of fans that you have or the clubs owners like you have. You want too much to do with my football club for my liking and you're too radical. The general fans who have in the past donated to the WST will stop (those that havent already) if they don't see at least some of it helping the club in some way; at the moment it has become an obstacle to good relationships between the fans and between the fans and the owners. You will make this the case with the WST itself; a fans group souring relationships in and around the club is a bad thing. Let Wayne take a seat on the board would be my answer, I don't agree with all of the points but you've had your turn and I think at this time he would be more effective on his own than in a group which is obviously totally influenced by you. You're criticism of Bruce (and that of your friends) highlights the depths to which you will stoop to get your way; it also questions your loyalty.

Blimey that's aa long speech from someone with an obviously very short memory.

I for one was stunned that Lindsay felt so strongly about what was happening with WST that he felt he had to resign.

Nothing against the people currently on the board but
I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking we are better with Lindsay on board than without.

Well as can be seen from 0308391's comments we know who is in the right here.

I know Lindsay has a womans name but at least he doesn't threaten pregnant women.

What a coward 0308391 guy is.

Oh dear dear, is that the best you can do to try to discredit me? Pointless, I'm not standing for election and many fans agree with me whether you like it or not. Most fans are not buying this type of thing anymore, or the type of comments Lindsay's best mate Justin (Growlsnarl) is making on RP about the current board members (doesn't that include Sally?). Didn't Lindsay and Justin and some RP mates intimidate a very ill former mate of theirs just because he had alternative views to them? Perhaps there should be a 'fit for purpose' rule for board membership?

Like Kenny Pemberton I was bewildered why Lindsey Jones stirred up trouble before the most important game in the club's history.
You (Lindsey) have blown away all the hard work you did for Wrexham FC. But it must be acknowledged that you schemed and plotted along the way - and resigning on the '3 year rule' is a perfect example of trying to get re-elected.
People have come to realise that you are just one big egotistic individual who just wants to get himself on the board - even if it is at the expense of people like Bruce Clapton who don't want a place on the board for THAT social status.
Even during the struggle against Guterman and Hamilton you used people ( Keb needs this 'n that), talked about yourself in the third person whilst instead of playing footie on Hammy's lawn a protest outside WMBC or the Assemblt might have proven more worthwhile.
Since then you have betrayed and slagged off your comrades in arms on the WST board for your own personal ambition.
You pushed the Dickens deal through an sold it to the fans - although Dickens has full control legally thanks to you and your little tribe who intimidate and threaten people etc etc.
Dickens and Moss won't negotiate with you, half the WST board see what you are.
You are undoubtedly clever Lindsey. But also self-ambitious for that place on the board instead of working at HMV in Brum, manipulative, a bully, a big ego and someone who needs to stand down from the current elections.
For all your usernames on RP, and your cronies, hopefully justice will see that you are not elected.

Lindsay Jones, you are currently doing Wrexham AFC the biggest dis-service since we got rid of Hamilton.

YOu run TWO secret militant internet groups , one for the generals and one for your soldiers. The generals decide who to target and then wind up the foot soldiers to go onto red passion and cause havoc.

You have run these groups for some time, I used to be on one of them until I could not stand your manipulation techniques any more.

To all those people on his groups I call on you to have a serious think about what you are doing to our football club.

Lindsay - You have split the WST apart with your selfish ego trip.
The damage is already done regardless of if you get reelected or not.

But that is exactly what you wanted isnt it?

Your comments on red passion reveal all.

You now say that you want better relations with the club, but why would Moss and Dickens speak to you when you call them crooks, insult their families and encourage people to disrupt their businesses?

The current board were well on the way to securing shares and a board place, however if I was Moss or Dickens I would not entertain the thought of having the trust on board given the
desctructiveness of you and your militant tendancy. funnily enough the club started talking to WST again once you resigned. Funny that.

of course you have changed your tune now that you have decided to restand for election - you try to speak like a politician and have stopped the direct insults but just a month ago you were calling Moss and Dickens all the names under the sun.

I hope to God that the members of WST see through you and that none of your cronies make it onto the baord or I feel we can kiss goodbye to any chance of shares or board representation for the fans. And that will all be on your head.

It's funny that respect has suddenly become important to you. Nevertheless I do appreciate your answers to my questions. As a non-wst member but a lifelong Wrexham fan I just hope that somewhere down the line sanity will return and the results on Saturdays or Tuesdays (but especially Sundays)will be the most important thing... like it used to be.

I for one am fed up of reading Lindsey Jones' pre-election posts on Red Passion.
All you have done is grassed up, whistle-blown and betrayed your former friends - friends who fought the battle against Guterman and Hamilton.
Don't kid yourself that YOU were the one who found out about Hamilton. I for one know of four people who were ready to take up the battle but you wanted to lead it so we let you (the little dictator) get on with it.
You have started to get nasty now Lindsey on Red Passion. There's no need to be afraid because I'm sure your cronies will get you voted in.
But in your victory people will always remember you as the guy with crooked teeth who grassed up, betrayed and used every dirty trick in the book to get re-elected.
Resigning before your 3-year tenure beinga perfect example.
I have met you on many occasions and I'm afraid that you are one big nasty piece of work.
