Cllr Colin Bithell - Election Address and CV

Cllr Colin Bithell

I have been a Wrexham supporter for forty years.

I have been elected a local councillor for thirty-seven years with experience of Community, District and currently County level with Flintshire County Council. I am vice chairman of the County Audit Committee.

I am also a governor of the Welsh College of Horticulture at Northop.

During my working like at Vauxhall Motors I was a Production Controller and also the Union Staff Convenor. I have also previously served as a member of the Independent Tribunal Service.

I along with the other nominees Lindsay Jones, Wayne Price, Len Willett and Phillip Wynn support the current WST strategy of building a local consortium to bid for and run our club. However we feel that this strategy needs to be widened to include other stakeholders such as the local authority and other organisations. We believe that the key to the clubs future prosperity is the provision of a new stand on the Kop and that the WST must work in partnership with all stakeholders to bring this about. We believe we can bring new energy and ideas to assist the existing WST board members in their negotiations with the club owners and other parties, to ensure the club and the Racecourse is protected for the benefit of current and future generations of Wrexham AFC fans.

Councillor Bithell, Could you please let me know if you agree with the combative, and misleading stance against the clubs owners taken by other members of your group in postings on internet messageboards, where facts are willfully ignored, personal suppositions stated as being certain fact, and obvious intent twisted to paint the owners in an extremely bad light.

Will you be using this approach in all your dealings with the club?

Should trust board members be posting like this?

Sounds like a good question to me eyes wide open (why dont you like the question?). I'm concerned about councillors being involved with my football club in this way partly due to the political issue (it's best kept away from the board imo). Also, current councillors are in a position where they can help the club in a big way without being on the board of the WST. My worry is that, in this case, the sole purpose for standing is to help Lindsay back in.

councillor bithell, like Len Willet hasnt got a clue that he is just being used by Lindsay in his bid to take over the trust.

No communication with the fans from this guy either? Is Lindsay instructing the members of the 'fresh approach' on who can speak and when I wonder??? Nothing fresh about that is there. Waste of time!
